K100 MK12, 9mm conversion to .40 S&W
Thu May 04, 2017 12:06 am

Just wondering if this is possible.

Can a K100 MK12 chambered in 9 mm be converted to a .40 S&W by changing the barrel and using a .40 S&W magazine?

I am assuming that the slide can house the .40 barrel and the frame will work with a .40 magazine as I don't see a way to buy just the replacement slide.

Glock 19s, as an example, can be converted to a .40 with a simple slide, barrel and mag switch The frame can hold the .40 environment.

No that would not work. The K100 is a dedicated 9mm platform and doesn't come chambered for .40 S&W, or any other caliber for that matter. Grand Power does make a model chambered for .40 S&W, the P40, however everything from the frame up, is different than the K100.

They actually make K100 in .40 S&W which is NOT the P40. Check these out:

I believe the frame is the same and will 'house' the .40 S&W but a complete slide is need unless the .40 S&W barrel fits the 9 mm slide. Of course, you need .40 S&W magazines.
